Northern lights tour
15:30 Pick up from Ruka / Kuusamo and transfer to The Border Inn
Our evening Husky Safari is a great way to enjoy the night sky. With a maximum of 8 clients, our tours are designed for individual experiences. The comfortably big wooden sleds can easily fit 2 adults. Reindeer skins will keep you warm during the ride. We will hook up teams of 8-10 race dogs per sled and head out into the night.
The guides will be driving the sled and you can enjoy the view of the stars, the bright moonlight or even some northern lights. Our trail will lead us along the Finnish-Russian border, with some big lakes and open forest trails, that give an uninterrupted view of the night sky.
After the tour, you are welcome to spend some time with our dogs.
At the lodge, it is nice to warm up, have a beer and relax in a traditional Finnish wood fired sauna and share the experiences of the tour. Our sauna fits up to 10 people. Men and women can take turns and maybe even risk a dip in the snow afterwards.
During the traditional evening dinner you can enjoy stories about our dogs, racing & the daily musher life.
