Philip Ross
Philip Ross - Owner​

Philip is the head of operations and brings 25 years of experience to the table.
Originally from Scotland, he has moved to Finland in 1995 to realise his dream and become a musher. 
From 2000 until 2018, Philip´s company The Border Inn offered dog sledding week tours
along the Finnish-Russian border.
Katja Bosch

Originally from Germany, Katja moved to Finland in 2011 to live with Philip and his dogs. She brings German efficiency to Ruka Husky and organises the clients and the kennel.

​Jelena is a qualified wilderness guide who graduated from the wilderness guide school in Kittilä 2020. She has worked with sled dogs her whole life and brings patience and reliability to the team. 
Manu Ferrando

  • Hobbies: cooking, hiking, yoga
​
​Manu, a trained chef from Argentina, joined the team in August 2021, after working for 6 years with sled dogs in Patagonia.
He has a great affinity with working dogs and a relaxed & calm attitude.

Ulf Schmid​

  • Hobbies: motorbike touring, travel, climbing
​
Ulf, originally from Germany, came to us as a trainee in October 2021 for a winter season and will be joining the team again as a main guide in autumn 2022. During the summer months he likes to travel Europe with his motorbike. 
Both dogs and clients enjoy his company and friendly attitude.
